ACP Mahila club was launched on March 28, 2019. The primary objective of mahila club was to provide a platform for free interaction and to improve social, mental and spiritual well-being of women so as to enable them to render their contributions effectively for the overall development of the individual and institution as well. Cooperation and coordination to strengthen the interpersonal relationship among the staff members is the mainstay of the forum. Identifying key actions to address the women needs inside the institution and to drive change and commit to uplift women participation and performance in all academic and non- academic movements are among other objectives. The forum aims to conduct women conclave, empowerment workshops, etc for improving professional and non-professional attitude of women. Appreciations and rewards for the achievements of women in the institution are best practices to motivate and activate the members for career excellence.

Women Forum, Al-Shifa College of pharmacy conducted, an engaging and thought- provoking session on importance of work for women titled FLY: Find the Lady in You OnFriday, August 18, 2023 at Al-shifa college of Arts and Sciences. The session was led by Danisha .P, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy and Dr. Shebina. P. Rasheed, Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Al Sifa College of Pharmacy. They focused on the importance of work for women and inspired the students to discover their true potential in various professional spheres. The interactive nature of the session allowed for open discussions and questions from the participants. Many students shared their own experiences and challenges.
Mhila club of Al shifa college of pharmacy organized International womens day celebrations in ACP campus on March 8, 2023. Principal, Prof (Dr) TNK Suriyaprakash, inaugurated the ceremony, Ms.Neethu Varghese, Professor, in Pharmaceutical Chemistry gave the welcome address. Dr.Dilip C, Vice Principal – academics and Mrs.Smitha Rani, Professor in Pharmacognosy gave the felicitations. while vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Danisha Coordinator of ACP Mhila club. Ms.Afila Rafeek of Fourth Semester M Pharm Pharmaceutics served as resource person on the topic- Responsible behavior in professional environment and Ms. Sahla of M Pharm Pharmacy Practice spoke on menstrual hygiene and health. Competitions for girls including ethnic draping, facial makeup and ramp walk were conducted as well. Prize distributions were followed.

Program Report: With regard to the AICTE circular dated 03.11.2022 with subject Implementation of sexual harassment of women at workshop (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 Al Shifa college of Pharmacy conducted a Sensitization Workshop On Discrimination Against Women for the staff and students of the institution inviting resource person Smt.Indira Nair, Advocate from the Perinthalmanna Taluk Legal Divison. Faculty, non- teaching staff and 250 students of courses of M Pharm, Pharm D, B Pharm and D Pharm participated in the Workshop. The workshop provided effective awareness on the provision of Article 14 to 15,
Article 21 and Article 19(1)g for upholding the dignity of women in workplace and community. An Open Adaalat for Internal Grievance Redressal was also convened on the same day and all new/pending grievances were reviewed and addressed. Major grievances were raised by the hostellers about the water availability and outside food delivery which were sorted at once in consultation with the head of institution. All review and redressal was completed by 4 PM on the day with submission of report to the Head of Institution. Feedback and Analysis: Feedback of program was collected through google forms. All responses were positive. 64 students responded for the feedback. Quality of the programs was rated as excellent and all discussions met the demands of the students.
Women Forum of Al-Shifa College of pharmacy organized 1st pharmacy women research congress in India in ACP campus on June 3rd, 2023 which emphasised on empowering women – breaking barriers and building bridges. 277 delegates including faculty and students from pharmacy colleges across India participated. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Renuka R, District medical officer Malappuram Welcome address was given by Prof Dr TNK Suriyaprakash principal ACP. Presidential address was given by Dr P Unneen , Managing trustee ACP. Guest of honour, Dr Rajasree RS , DEAN , Faculty of pharmaceutical sciences KUHS Thrissur gave the key note address.
Felicitation were delivered by Mr K.T Abdul Razak (secretary , shifa medicare trust), Mr P Hamza ( Chief executive , shifa Mesicare Trust) and Dr Dilip C ( vice principal ACP) .Speakers, Dr S Asha Nair Ph D spoke on “Photosensitizers and photodynamic therapy in breast cancer: How far is it Translational”. Dr S Beena, spoke on the topic, ” Let us be wiser to face our own knowledge, Mrs Sandhya Varma on the topic “Lead to change”. There were 50 e poster presentations done by PhD and PG research students during the programme. Best three e posters were awarded with cash prize.Photographs attached.
