Mrs. Raihan shared tips for incorporating exercise into daily routines, highlighted 10 simple exercises, and emphasized the importance of a balanced diet in achieving overall fitness, drawing from her own fitness experiences.

Journal Club at Al Shifa College of Pharmacy hosted “Aroma Alchemy: Scented Tales of Desire,” led by Dr. Sruthi H. The Journal Club of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy organized a talk on Motorcycling, aptly named “Wheelie” by Mr Sujith Unnikrishnan, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy. Mr Sujith explain various interesting facts about motorcycling, including seating postures, safety precautions and riding gears. His lucid style of presentation evoked interest in the audience about this not-so-commonly discussed topic.

A talk on Sexual orientation, Gender identity, and Expression (SOGIE) was organised by Al Shifa College of Pharmacy on April 28, 2023. The talk was delivered by Prof Junise V, Vice Principal, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy. The talk was attended by all the teaching faculties of the college, who found the presentation incredible and thought provoking. Prof. Junise V delved deep into the various aspects of sexual orientation and gender identity, and how they affect individuals’ lives. Prof. Junise V also discussed the challenges faced by individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ in our society, and the importance of creating safe spaces and promoting inclusivity. The presentation highlighted the need for greater understanding and acceptance of people with different sexual orientations and gender identities.

The discussion covered solutions like PILL PEZ for accurate medication dispensing, Bluetooth trackers for belongings, fall detectors, CAM My Eye for the visually impaired, DEXCOM CGM for real-time glucose monitoring, and LIBERTY LIFT for assisted mobility. Attendees actively engaged in discussions, recognizing the potential of these innovations to enhance seniors’ safety, independence, and overall well-being.
