Pharmaceutics is the science of delivering biologically active compounds to the body through strategies that are designed to elicit an optimal therapeutic response. An understanding of pharmaceutics allows scientists to convert a potential drug into an effective medicine that can be administered to patients in a safe and convenient manner. Our department concentrates on four areas are

• Drug delivery, the development of the most appropriate form or method for administering a pharmaceutical compound
• Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, the design of medical interventions at the scale of molecules and atoms
• Biopharmaceutics, the study of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs and toxins in the body
• Pharmacokinetics, the study of the disposition of a drug or toxin once it enters the body, especially in relation to time and concentration

Dept Of Pharmaceutics During The Last 5 Years

2018-2019
• Conducted Pharmaceutical Industrial insight(pii) 2018 on10th July 2018 as campus recruitment for Glaxo smith Kline 
• Observed World Environment day on 21st June 2018.
• Pla thottam” an initiative to promote our state official fruit ‘jack fruit’ by planting jack fruit seedlings in the campus on 25th July 2018.
• On 10th  July 2018  Planted 250 saplings in the campus as NSS Activity
• Organized Mental awareness class to first year Pharm D,M.pharm and B.pharm students –Resorce person- Dr.jishnu narayanan on 26th Sep 2018.
• A kidney disease detection camp was organized at Melattur School by college NSS unit in collaboration with Melattur Grama Panchayath and Pain and palliative care on 29th July 2018.
• On 21st Aug 2018 Rs. 1.5 lakhs was collected as Flood Relief fund and donated as medicines,dress, fooditems and home needs to Maliangara island , Kodungallur.
• Organized Mental awareness class to first year Pharm D,M.pharm and B.pharm students –Resorce person- Dr.jishnu narayanan on 26th Sep 2018.
• A work shop “ Fly-high” was organized on 10th Jan 2019 to provide an insight for the students on ‘The opportunity in USA’. An alumni of this college, Dr.Shokkoor was the resource person.
• On 18th Jan 2019 seed distribution programme “Vithum kaikottum” was held.
• On 11th Mar 2019 campus recruitment drive was conducted for Life pharmaceuticals.
• On 18th Mar 2019 campus recruitment drive was conducted for Glaxosmithkline.

• ANTI RAGGING CLASS: Anti-ragging class to first and second year students on 08/09/2017
• VIBGYOR: Donated 100 dialyzer to Melattur pain and palliative on 17/02/2018
• Attended Leadership training programme NSS 16-17/02/2018
• AKSHARAM:Donated 50 schoul kits, all essential schoul things to the kids of cancer/ dialysis patients on 23-05-2018
• HARITHAKAM:Planted 240 saplings on World Environment Day (05/06/2018)
