About IIC
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, established in 2018 as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India, plays a pivotal role in fostering a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the institution. IIC actively promotes creative thinking, problem-solving, and translational research through innovation awareness programs, ideation workshops, expert talks, mentoring sessions, and entrepreneurship development activities, with a special focus on pharmaceutical and healthcare innovations.
The council has achieved significant national recognition. Students of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy emerged as winners of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2023, finalists of SIH 2024 , and the institution was a finalist in the AICTE Amrit Millets Innovation Challenge 2024. In the YUKTI Innovation Challenge 2025, six teams were shortlisted for the second round, reflecting consistent innovation performance. Additionally, the institution received a prestigious ₹5,00,000 grant from DST under the NIDHI-PRAYAS scheme, supporting prototype development and startup initiatives. IIC continues to empower students to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and socially responsible professionals.
III Year Pharm D student innovators
Our III Year Pharm D student innovators have secured the prestigious NIDHI-PRAYAS Grant-in-Aid with support of ₹5,00,000.
This makes us the first pharmacy college in Kerala to secure NIDHI-PRAYAS funding.
IIC REGIONAL MEET 2025
IIC REGIONAL MEET 2025 HELD AT RAJAGIRI SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING KOCHI ON 28/11/2025
The IIC Regional Meet was held on 28 November 2025 at Rajagiri School of Engineering, Kochi. Dr. Sanal Dev, IIC Convener, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, served as the speaker and discussed the IIC structure and strategies for effectively institutionalizing innovation in higher education institutions.
